Sankofa Education and Leadership, Incorporated is govered by a professional volunteer Board of Directors.

Sankofa Education and Leadership, Incorporated was formed in March of 2013 with a vision to ensure that marginalized and underserved youth in the Greater Norwich Area Educational District have equal and adequate access to educational, artistic, technological and leadership programs. The three program areas of concentration are: Leadership & Development, Scholarship and Educational, Cultural and Enrichment.

The Leadership & Development Program will focus on civic and social leadership and educating our young people about the benefits of joining civic organizations, accepting positions in elected and/or appointed offices and participating on town committees, boards and commissions.

The Scholarship Program is dedicated to establishing a means by which marginalized and underserved youth can participate in existing and future programs conducted by other organizations in the areas of academics, arts, athletics, technology and leadership.

The Educational, Cultural and Enrichment Program will conduct various programs to provide the knowledge and tools necessary for marginalized and underserved youth to succeed in today’s society and global economy.

Sankofa Education and Leadership Incorporated successfully collaborated with Three Rivers Community College, Three Rivers Middle College, Norwich Free Academy and the Norwich Noontime Rotary Celebrate Diversity Committee to provide Leadership & Development and Educational, Cultural & Enrichment Programs since its inception.
